Hello and welcome to my brand-spanking new blog!
As another year comes to an end and we start ringing in the new year, I thought I would get a head-start on one of my goals for 2018: to start blogging. I have wanted to do so for a long time, but I've always been intimidated by the fact that I do not know the first thing about creating a blog! But then I thought to myself that it's just another learning curve and what better time to start learning than now...so here I am! Now it is still a work in progress so please bear with me. I'm still figuring out how to do stuff...binge-watching all the YouTube tutorials I can find ;)
Now for my first project, I wanted to create a card for the New Year...just because I've never done one before. So I rummaged through my stamp collection for ideas...lo and behold I didn't find any appropriate stamp sets! What a good start eh?! Anyway after much deliberation, I finally came up with this simple card.
Anyway going back to my card...I used my Star of Light stamp set for the fireworks, and gold heat-embossed it. For my background I used an ink blending tool and sponge daubers to achieve the night sky look. The 'Hello' is from the previous Sale-a-bration stamp set, Any Occasions. And finally my numbers are cut out in gold foil by my Cricut since I do not own the Large Numbers framelits die. For a video tutorial on how I made my card, just click on my YouTube link below.
Well, that is all for today crafters! I wish everyone a very happy and blessed New Year! Cheers to another year full of adventures and creative shenanigans!!! :)
