Sweet Little Birthday card

I had to make a card for a co-worker's birthday, so I created this sweet little card for such a sweet and thoughtful person! I sure hope she likes it.
I started by sponging a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana and So Saffron. Nothing precise, just a quick transfer of color. Then to help blend it all out, I sprayed it generously with good old water. This made the colors soften a bit.
Once completely dry I started with my heat embossing. I used the cute flowers from the stamp set HedgeHugs, one of the sets that I haven't used in a while! I stamped the images using Versamark ink and then silver heat-embossed them. It looks like such a cute DSP don't ya think?!
I then cut out the center with a die from the Layering Circles Framelits, and also a scalloped piece on a piece of So Saffron cardstock for the frame. I layered my art piece on top of a So Saffron mat with the center cut out, and then this was then adhered to my Whisper White card base. Finally I stamped my sentiment from the Special Celebrations set using my Flirty Flamingo ink pad.

For embellishments I used the bird from the beautiful Petal Palette stamp set and stamped it in Gray Granite. I die-cut it using the coordinating die from the Petals & More Thinlits, and also the leaves on a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock. Finally I added a bow using our Silver Baker's Twine

And that is my card for today. Thanks for dropping by and I hope to see you next time! Happy crafting!

Springtime Foils Wedding card

Last weekend friends of mine tied the knot (Congratulations Lenny & Carol!), and of course I needed to make a card for that special occasion! So I turned to my Springtime Foils DSP for a simple yet elegant card. This DSP is so beautiful, it just adds that special something to any project you create with it!
So for my simple card, I started with die-cutting a few flowers from the Botanical Builder Framelits dies. This is a retired set, but it is timeless...perfect for any occasion. I die-cut two pieces each of the bigger flowers, one in gold foil and one more in Whisper White. Before I added the centers of the flowers, I covered the white ones in Wink of Stella for some sparkle. And lastly I put pearls right smack in the middle of the flowers for embellishment.
My card base is an A2 sized Whisper White piece of cardstock, with two of the corners trimmed with a corner punch. I did the same with the layering pieces of gold foil and the Springtime foils DSP. My sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set which I stamped in Basic Black and then clear heat embossed on a piece of vellum. This was then layered on top of a strip of gold foil. I stuck my sentiment piece down onto my DSP and then just arranged all my flowers onto the side. And just like that, my card is done!
Now as far as card-making goes, this one was super easy to make. In my opinion, the DSP just makes the whole card. So if you still haven't gotten this gorgeous DSP, you have until end of March...hurry before Sale-a-bration ends!
I hope you enjoyed my card  for today, thanks for dropping by! See you next time :)

A Little Wild Slider Card

It is my cute goddaughter's third birthday this weekend (Happy birthday Isay!!!) and I wanted to make her a special card. I decided to make her a slider card using the adorable animals from the stamp set A Little Wild...I'm hoping that she would like this fun interactive card.

For this card I am using a piece of DSP (I think this one is from last year's SAB...what can I say...I'm a paper hoarder!) and Tangerine Tango cardstock both measuring 5 x 5'. I trimmed my frame to have a 3/4" border on the top and bottom, and 1/2" on the sides. For my slider piece I used same color cardstock that measures 4 1/4" x 11", and a Thick Whisper White piece measuring 3/4 x 4 1/2". I also punched two 3/4" circles on a Thick Whisper White cardstock. For the push/pull part I punched a tag piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock.
I also used the Special Celebrations stamp set for my sentiments. Then I scattered a few confetti stamps inside the card and added gold lines outside...and that's basically my card! For the video tutorial, just click on the link below.

I hope you enjoyed my card for today crafters and I wish you all a lovely day! Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!
